POSTING O F THE NEW WEBISTES!!!

I FINISHED MY WEBSITE…… or at least I think I did. the building of the website took a lot longer than I would of expected. Though, the finished product of my labor was great in my opinion. The process of building the website was really hard, even using a web site builder and not soling working with code, and not a nice GUI. My website that i just finished is called Kazam.iisstudents.net make sure you get all the ‘ss’ in there properly.

Post of the new month, and close to the end of the year!!!!

The end of the year is nearly upon us, yet we get to make one last final project that will choose on wether we take a big test or not. I, wanting a very easy test, I am trying to put as much effort into this project as possible, and hit the deadline on time. I know i can do this with my new typing speed of 33 wpm. being able to go that fast, I am surprised that i have not finished earlier.

We just got over with our large information era of computing class. Now we have just started to work on making our own websites. this seems to be a slow process, though,i want to get the most i can out of this block, and hope that i can excel in this class, especially when i do the work.

The past week we have been doing a lot detailed notes on web domains that will lead into making a website.
first we started seeing to search and find good information on the world wide web. And how to find the best and accurate information you can find.
ways to know the information is reliable by A FOUR STEP PROCESS!!!
1. look for, check-domain name and code
2. determine author(s) or authoration
3. look for date and time of publication.
4. dtermin ownership, sponsorship who supports , host, underwrites the domain and website.
also we learned about some really cool tools such as the wayback machine that shows you ‘images’ of the web in the past. the second was noodletools and it helps you find good information on the web using specific websites that it leads you too. then the whois look up tool to find out who is sponsoring t6he website.
All these websites prove very useful for finding relevant information on the web.

Evaluation of search engines that I have never head of.

This is difficult for me. When I was younger, I felt I had strange task to find all the search engines on the web that i could find, and use them, just to be awkward.
the first Search engine that i am to evaluate is Excite. Excite is the search engine that has been around for awhile yet has received little to none recognition. the reason behind this is because they have done nothing that is revolutionizing, or that at least sets them apart from the others. It has a small e-mail capabilities if you actually get one, yet it is quite useless seeing that it gives only a fraction of what the leading e-mail providers offer. The home page for the search engine is the exact same as igoogle home page, yet you do not have the choice to change around the features and what you want to see. Also the searching algorithm for Excite is very primitive, and still some what goes off the ‘sponsored’ sites go first. Also the website is horrible slow compared to some of the other search engines out there. Another  thing about Excite that I do not like about it is that the video searching Engine is very bad, giving a small picture, that is very low quality, instead of diving a small clip of the video. Personally the best video search engine is that of MSN. Over all this is not a very good search engine, mainly for those who want to watch the progress bar inch slowly across from having to load all the extra features.

The second search engine that I am to review is Mamma meta search engine. Much like Excite is that the search engine is painfully slow compared to head dogs. though, that is what you would have to expect of a search engine that you have never head of. Though, is some respects is that the search engine has no ads what so ever, with a very clean interface very much like Google. once you start searching, you realize that it reminces of Ask, with the options of the left hand side of were your searchs come from. which in my opion is very nice being able to choose were your results come from. though, that option is only for searching for movies. Over all this is a relitavely nice search engine that great if you want to be lead around the internet by aficticios mother. This is a great search engines for Mamma boys and people who just want to be wierd (like linux fans).

The third and final search engine I am to evaluate is Video search. It is a relatively new web search that compiles most of the large data bases that we know of such as you tube and dailymotion and veoh, and it puts it together in a well orginized database. Also one of the greatest things about this web searcher is that it gives you little pictures of what is though out the movies. you can choose the space is between each picture in the video. Also you can jump to that exact moment instead of having to wait for the whole thing to stream. The interface for this website is great. it has a clean stream look that you would expect apple to come up with. The interface that goes with it is very easy to work with. I can go all day and say how great this search engine is from just messing around with it for an afternoon. Over all this is a search engine that you have to use instead of youtube.

Word Speed of 04/3/09

My word speed for today is a lowly 28 from my usual. Though, it will get better.

End of quarter, only to begin another

As we begin with April 1st, I am sad to say that I have a -D in my computer tech. Even though i have tried as hard as possible. FOOLED!!!! No, I have something close to an A in this class, and I feel that I have worked very hard for it. My new word per-minute count is at 29, which is not a joke. I hear to start and end the year (start at 4th quarter) we are going to be doing a little HTML editing and make our own website. I am extremely excited about that, because we will get to work with code.

my word per-minutes is now 32. It has been close to that for quite awhile. during the week on 3/30/09 we will start it off with a test on Voip and messanging devicesFor the rst of the week i do not know what we are going to do.

Skyping hell

this last week was chaotic with our skyping conference. I feel that this would of gone a lot better if people tried to participate, and not talk to a minimum. Another big trouble was the actual getting skype to work. What I feel went wrong was that the recorders didn’t work properly and caused Skype to freak out on us a lot. Other wise this was a great exhample on that computing technology is still a new thing for us, and it is being updated every minute and outdated.

Skype for me is one of the greatest tools for me to use, since I am traveling abroad. Recently i have just used it for my Highschool application. this tool has very great uses and practical uses too.
